Default Level 15, looking for an elite

I escaped from the island as a lvl 14 rit, scanned a list of elites at the wiki, and decided to jump to EoTN and pick up preservation. Having now seen what a horrible skill this is first hand, I want to find another elite to get.

I'm not looking for a perfect build. I just want a decent elite that I can grab quickly, something I can use as i roll through one or more of the campaigns unlocking areas.

What's a good one to go for?

if you want the truth....delete the rit make a better class...if you want an answer...for healing go with weapon of remedy or xinrae's weapon if you want damage go with caretakers or one of the two channeling ashes...otherwise just pick up offering of spirit

Eh. Ritualists don't really need Elites. At least mine doesn't. Capped a few, of course, but he's H/H'd his way through the game, reaching the Leviathan Pits (man, Gyala was a *lot* easier with H/H than it was with humans. ) tonight without actually using any of them.

[Spirit Rift][Ancestor's Rage][Painful Bond][Spirit Light][Mend Body and Soul][Bloodsong][Life][Protective Was Kaolai] ...being my bar. Mostly just drop Bloodsong and Life, use Painful Bond, and heal when the situation demands it. Ancestor's Rage only if things get messy and I get surrounded, and Spirit Rift only when bored. :P

Still, if you're the active type who's more into blasting things than I am, perhaps [[Destructive Was Glaive] would be a good idea - charge right in and let off an Ancestor's Rage and drop the item. Or perhaps get a good bow or two and go grab [[Barrage] from somewhere to go with [[Splinter Weapon]. I hear it's pretty decent...

Narcin, I get the Offering of Spirit, Xinrae's, etc, are good choices. But those are a long, long way away. I was looking for something I can get NOW, or soon. I'm a demanding teen, I want it now. now now now. :-)

Ok, I saw the Destructive and Wielder's Zeal were things that I could get after I do the basic nightfall missions. Wasn't sure how good they were, and after getting burned once I wanted to ask first.

there are some really good (my opinion) elites out there for rits...

grasping was kuurong, clamor of souls, signet of ghostly might to name a few.
Just really depends on how you want to play.

Overall rits are a fun (somewhat slower than others) class to play and there are quite a few combinations you can run on your bar. Play around with some of those elites listed above and see what you think.

I suggest Assassin's Promise, assuming, of course, you have an Assassin secondary.

Seconding Assassin's Promise. Instant skill recharge and a soul-reaping like effect is awesome, of course provided you kill stuff quickly.

I feel as if you have no knowledge of a profession, you should not go on their forum and give advice. In that same fashion am I mistaken in suggesting that if you dislike the class you should also refrain from posting. I like to think of these forums as a place for people to go to learn and discuss the listed profession, and maybe make a few complaints. But if you flat out hate the profession, please just don't bother even clicking on the name and, rather then giving help, merely state "delete the character and choose another profession."

Shoot for Vengeful Was Khanhei, it's a ways down the road, but then you can 330 farm your way toward some elite tomes to make up for your time once you get it.

Edit: Or just buy one now, you can get them on guru for 7k. And I know I'd rather pay 7k than work my way through nightfall for a skill.

you touched on only a QUARTER of what i said yes its true, rits are not my favorite class and yes i do think character slots could be used better....but i still provided him with a decent selection of skills.

While vengeful is a useful farming elite, its not really the best for when you are just playing through the game, which is what it seems OP is looking for

Alright common elites used by most Ritualists...

Offering of Spirit
Xinrae's Weapon
Weapon of Remedy
Clamor of Souls
Ritual Lord
Weapon of Quickening
Weapon of Fury
Attuned Was Songkai

Honestly there's probably others but many of these skills you have to press through the game quite a bit to get an elite that's worth while. I suggest going to look them up and see which ones appeal to you most. Just bear in mind Ritualists are not big primaries, we're huge support though.

Oh and Vengeful was Khannei, don't even bother with it unless you plan to farm some =)

Happy hunting.

Well, it depends on what you would like to focus on. Xinrae's weapon, or weapon of remedy are good choices for a support rit. Clamour of souls or caretaker's charge are good for a hybrid build, and if you want to bring offensive spirits, I recommend signet of ghostly might. There are several good elites for different roles. Just make your choice.

Signet of Ghostly Might is deep into NF also though sadly. Like every other Rit skill =P

This is the issue I'm facing. It seems like all the good skills are very deep in the campaigns, and even the "not bads" are pretty far down the road. Every other primary that I've tried (warrior, assassin, necro, mesmer, elementalist) seems to have a decent elite (or more than one) accessible very early.

As someone above pointed out, I could go for another profession's elite for now and wait until I have access to a good one, but it seems a shame that there aren't any decent rit elites available just off the island.

-Jeff

P.S. "Wait,wait....you left the island at lvl 14?" - I've gotta ask, why is this such a big deal? I've seen the island multiple times, I did the main quests and a few side quests (including that silly 4000xp quest where you kill a million corsairs only to find out the boy wants to be a pirate and lied to his momma), so I'm not sure what you're surprised at.

Probably because you skipped a ton of side quests. If you do all/most of them you'd be at level 20. People tend to get blown to bits if they aren't at 20 on the mainland.

I believe after you do all of them you're around 18.5...

I wasn't having problems on the mainland. That was probably part knowing my way around, and part using the item that raises health so I wouldn't be as high priority a target. After doing a few quests, I went to EoTN, picked up MOX, Veck, and Ogden, and that pretty much made things easy.

Well, I went with weapon of fury. It's very easy to get once you reach the mainland, especially if you combine it with the mission to rescue koss.
